Why the so-called Moscow Patriarchate is=20 Uncanonical
and Should Not Be Joined

In the summer of 1927, Metropolitan Sergius Stragorodsky, was = suddenly=20 released from two months of imprisonment and torture by the Cheka=20 [proto-KGB]. He and three other clergymen who had been released = from=20 similar trials met in Moscow and declared on July = 29^th:

That they had been =E2=80=9Cauthorized=E2=80=9D by the = Soviet Union =E2=80=9Cto take over=20 the administration of the Orthodox All-Russian Church=E2=80=9D = and vowed to=20 prove themselves its reliable servants and =E2=80=9Cnot betray = its trust.=E2=80=9D=20

That the great task of their Synod was to prove in word and = deed=20 that the Orthodox Church could be a fully loyal and obedient=20 collaborator and supporter of the Soviet regime.=20

That the Church administration they were usurping would = =E2=80=9Cbe=20 Orthodox, and at the same time see the Soviet Union as our civil = Fatherland, whose triumphs and successes are also our triumphs = and=20 successes, whose failures are our failures. Every attack, = boycott,=20 public catastrophe [against Bolshevism]...will be regarded as an = attack=20 against ourselves.=E2=80=9D=20

That, because all events happen from God, therefore this = means it is=20 God=E2=80=99s goodwill that the Church accept the Revolution, = acknowledge the=20 Bolsheviks, and serve them faithfully =E2=80=9Cnot only from = fear, but for=20 conscience=E2=80=99s sake=E2=80=9D [Rom.], as a religious duty = to God-appointed, lawful=20 rulers.=20

That the Church had previously rejected this position = because it=20 failed to understand God=E2=80=99s will and providence.=20

That anyone who does not assent to this new administration = and=20 policy must be silent or leave the Church.=20

Finally, =E2=80=9C...we demand from the clergy abroad [34 = anticommunist=20 bishops and their flocks, forming the ROCOR, had gone into = exile] a=20 written promise of their complete loyalty to the Soviet = government in=20 all their public activities. Those who fail to make such a = promise or=20 fail to observe it shall be expelled from the ranks of the=20 clergy...[and] cut off from their native Church and = land.=E2=80=9D

Yet, here are Sergius=E2=80=99 very own words (from the year = before, 1926):=20

=E2=80=9CBut let us be sincere to the end. We cannot pass over = in silence the=20 contradictions which exist between our Orthodox [people] and the=20 communists who govern our Union. The latter struggle against God = and His=20 rule in the hearts of the people, while we see the significance = and aim of=20 our entire existence in the confession of faith in God as well as = in the=20 widest dissemination and affirmation of that faith in = people=E2=80=99s hearts.=20 They accept exclusively the materialistic conception of history, = while we=20 believe in divine Providence, in miracles, etc. Far from = promising the=20 reconciliation of that which is can never be reconciled, and from=20 pretending to create an adaptation of our Faith to communism, we = shall=20 remain from the religious point of view, what we are, i.e., = adherents of=20 the Traditional Church.=E2=80=9D [Letter of June 10, 1926 to = Metropolitan=20 Evloghii of Western Europe (ROCA).]

One year later, his synod tried to perform this very = reconciliation of=20 these irreconcilable enemies and adapt Orthodoxy to Bolshevism, = Christ to=20 Lenin. But was it really possible that the Church could identify = herself=20 with Bolshevism and make common cause with it and still remain the = Church=20 of Christ?

The Bolshevik Commisar and CPSU spokesman, E. Yaroslavsky = snorted at=20 the Sergian =E2=80=9CDeclaration=E2=80=9D, declaring that same = year (1927): =E2=80=9CWith=20 religion, even though Bishop Sergius may adorn it in whatever = worldly garb=20 he may please, and with its influence on the masses of workers, we = shall=20 continue waging war, as we wage war on every religion, on every = church=E2=80=9D=20 (E. Yaroslavsky, On Religion, Moscow, 1957, p. 155).

That same year, Stalin was declaring to the world: =E2=80=9CThe = Party [the=20 Communist Party of the Soviet Union [CPSU], which was the = sole=20 legal, governing political party under Bolshevism, i.e., it was = the=20 government of the Soviet Union] cannot be neutral with = regard to=20 religion, and it continuously conducts anti-religious = propaganda=20 against any and all religious prejudices because it stands for = science,=20 while religious prejudices are against science, since every = religion is=20 something contrary to science.=E2=80=9D (Interview with the First = American Trade=20 Union Delegation [September 1927])

At this time, the Soviet Commisar of Education, E. Lunarcharsky = was=20 explaining the current Soviet policy toward religion, education, = and=20 family, reminding his fellow Bolsheviks: =E2=80=9CRemember that = the struggle=20 against religion is a struggle for socialism [unlike Sergius, = the=20 Soviet government says the two are irreconcilable]....The = program of=20 the Communist International likewise clearly states that = Communists war=20 against religion.=E2=80=9D =E2=80=9COur task now is to do away = with the family and to=20 remove women from the rearing and education of children... in = common=20 facilities...the children will be supervised by our trained = pedagogical=20 and medical personnel. There is no doubt that the terms = =E2=80=98my parents,=E2=80=99 =E2=80=98our=20 children,=E2=80=99 will gradually fall out of usage, being = replaced by purely=20 general conceptions like =E2=80=98old people,=E2=80=99 = =E2=80=98children,=E2=80=99 and =E2=80=98infants.=E2=80=99... Under=20 authentic Communism, the citizen will avoid any such permanent = pairing as=20 marriage and will seek to satisfy his needs via... freedom of = consensual=20 intercourse between husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, children, = so that=20 one cannot tell who is related to whom and how closely. That is = how=20 socialism is to be built.... A vast common society will take the = place of=20 that small philistine nook, that little philistine apartment, that = domestic hearth, yes, that stagnant family unit which separates = itself off=20 from society.=E2=80=9D [H. Kent Geiger, The Family in Soviet = Russia,=20 Cambridge, Mass., 1968, pp. 36, 44-5, 47-48, 68}]

Such was the Soviet Government at the time that Metropolitan = Sergius=20 and his little sect of four boldly identified Christianity with = its=20 program.

So then, where in all this does the Christian find a common = cause, not=20 to mention every common cause and complete self-identification, = with=20 Bolshevism =E2=80=93 is it in the realm of their common morality? = The Bolshevik=E2=80=99s=20 dogma denies every Divine law and preaches violent class-warfare = as the=20 only morality. Is it in their common family values? Bolshevism at = this=20 time =E2=80=93 and officially until Stalin reversed it in 1943 = =E2=80=93 preached the=20 abolition of the family, marriage, and parenthood. Was there = anything in=20 Bolshevism, anything at all, that a Christian could morally = identify with=20 or share in? It preached the absolute destruction of everything = the Church=20 and Christ stands for. Therefore, Metropolitan Sergius=E2=80=99 = confession or=20 Declaration of Faith, preaching the =E2=80=9Creligious = duty=E2=80=9D of sharing in=20 Bolshevism=E2=80=99s goals and aims was =E2=80=9Cdogmatized = apostasy:=E2=80=9D

=E2=80=98They say: =E2=80=98the [Moscow] patriarchate has = changed nothing, neither=20 dogmas, nor services, nor rites=E2=80=99. =E2=80=98No=E2=80=99, we = reply, =E2=80=98the patriarchate has=20 violated the vital dogma of the Church of Christ, has destroyed = its vital=20 purpose =E2=80=93 serving the regeneration of people, and has = substituted for it=20 the godless aims of communism, which are unnatural for the Church. = This=20 apostasy is more bitter than all the previous Arianisms, = Nestorianisms,=20 Iconoclasms, etc. It is not the personal sin of this or that = hierarch, but=20 the root sin of the Moscow Patriarchate, confirmed, preached, = sealed by an=20 oath before the whole world. It is, so to speak, dogmatized = apostasy=E2=80=99=E2=80=9D=20 [Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko) of Eastern America (ROCOR), The = Motives=20 of the My Life, 1955]

Referring to Sergius=E2=80=99 =E2=80=9Ctheology of = Adaptation=E2=80=9D, later Soviet=20 publications would declare:

=E2=80=9CContemporary influential atheists regard Adaptation as = a modernization=20 of religion which is politically useful for the CPSU and harmless = for the=20 materialistic ideology. =E2=80=9CThis (Adaptation) is one of the = paths to the=20 dying out of religion=E2=80=9D (Journal, Science and = Religion,=20 no. 12, 1966, p. 78).

They were quite right; Sergius, in trying to defend his = indefensible=20 capitulation, explicitly introduced the fatal heresy that, because = all=20 events are from God, the Church must adapt, embrace, and = collaborate with=20 every regime and every circumstance, even one completely inimical = to her=20 life and faith. As one Russian writer (B.V. Talantov, = =E2=80=9CLeaven of Herod=E2=80=9D,=20 1967) who perished in 1971 in a gulag for writing this, says:

=E2=80=9CPatriarch Sergius, and later Patriarch Alexis with = their newly-created=20 bishops...assimilated well the leaven of Herod, i.e., Adaptation = to the=20 mighty of this world. Here is how, for example, Bishop Vladimir of = Kirov=20 expressed Adaptation in his sermon of May 28, 1967. =E2=80=98We = must adapt=20 ourselves to new conditions and circumstances of life like a = little stream=20 which, on meeting a rock in its path, goes around it. We live = together=20 with atheists and must take them into consideration and not do = anything=20 that displeases them.=EF=BF=BD

=E2=80=9CIt is interesting that B. V. Talantov was told almost = the very same=20 thing by the KGB on February 14, 1967: = =E2=80=9CYou,=E2=80=9D=E2=80=93said the KGB agent,=20 addressing Talantov =E2=80=93 =E2=80=9Cdemand that all closed = churches be opened [note:=20 80% of the remaining churches were being closed under Krushchev]; = but you=20 live together with atheists and must take their wishes into = consideration,=20 and they do not wish that churches be opened.=E2=80=9D

=E2=80=9CIn the St. Seraphim church in Kirov on January 20, = 1966=E2=80=93the day of=20 commemoration of St. John the Baptist=E2=80=93one [MP] priest said = in his sermon:=20 =E2=80=9CJohn the Baptist taught everyone very simply: obey the = authorities in=20 everything.=E2=80=9D From this it is evident that the new [MP] = bishop, having=20 assimilated Adaptation to atheism, has become an obedient tool in = the=20 hands of the atheist regime, and this is a most ruinous result for = the=20 Church of the long activity of Metropolitan, and then Patriarch,=20 Sergius.=E2=80=9D

Our Lord said, =E2=80=9CNo one can serve two masters. He will = either love the=20 one and hate the other or he will hold to the one and despise the = other=E2=80=9D=20 [Matt. 6:24], yet Sergianism is claiming to do so. Under the laws = of the=20 Soviet Union, people under the age of 18 could not attend Church, = receive=20 communion, or be taught religion by the Church, although everyone = had to=20 take classes in =E2=80=9CScientific Atheism=E2=80=9D. Under the = laws of the U.S.S.R., no=20 one could preach the word of God outside the church building or=20 proselytize anyone to religion, relics were confiscated and = burned, the=20 State had the right (and used) it to close nearly all of = Russia=E2=80=99s=20 churches; 93% were closed, although tens of millions of believers=20 remained, protesting this, and it was illegal to hold any service = anywhere=20 else or to worship together at all without a special permit from = the=20 unwilling CPSU=E2=80=99s agents. Nothing religious (Bibles, = Catechisms, etc.)=20 could be published without receiving the prior censorship and = approval of=20 the CPSU agents. Everyone had to receive an atheistic education. = Whenever=20 the CPSU or KGB wanted to persecute religion, the bishops and = priests had=20 to betray believers and fellow-clergy over to death or prison, = close=20 churches, turn people away from Baptism and the Mysteries, remain = silent=20 or praise Marxist-atheist propaganda, give up Bibles and Church = books to=20 destruction, endure the mockery of Christ and all that is holy = without=20 raising a word in defense....

In sum, under Sergianism one could only obey Christ and live as = a=20 Christian to the extent that Christ=E2=80=99s enemies decided at = any given moment,=20 and while officially no one was absolutely compelled to deny their = private=20 beliefs, yet in word and deed they were daily forced to do so, and = to do=20 this, according to Sergius=E2=80=99 Declaration, was the will of = God and their=20 religious duty.

50,000 clergymen were killed and at least 20,000,000 Christians = died,=20 persecuted in one way or another for no other reason than that = their faith=20 did not and could not =E2=80=98adapt=E2=80=99 as Sergius=E2=80=99 = had to the service of militant=20 atheism and that made them = =E2=80=98counter-revolutionaries.=E2=80=99 These martyrs=20 (witnesses) for Christ Sergius and his successors dismissed as = =E2=80=9Cpolitical=20 criminals,=E2=80=9D denying that there was ever any persecution of = religion or=20 suffering for the sake of religion in the U.S.S.R. (e.g., in his = Feb. 15,=20 1930 TASS interview and his 1941 book The Truth about Religion = in the=20 U.S.S.R. - =E2=80=9Cin the Soviet Union there was not and is = not now any=20 religious persecution=E2=80=9D; =E2=80=9Cchurches are closed not = on the orders of the=20 authorities, but at the wish of the population, and in many cases = even at=20 the request of the believers=E2=80=9D; Church schools are being = destroyed because=20 =E2=80=9Cthe Church herself does not want to have any = theological-educational=20 institutions=E2=80=9D; etc.) This regime waging war on Christ and = =E2=80=9Call that is=20 called =E2=80=98God=E2=80=99 or an object of worship=E2=80=9D[2 = Thess. 2:4], this regime Sergius=20 and his successors ordered their clergy to commemorate in every = Divine=20 Liturgy with a prayer for its prosperity, success, and permanence, = while=20 forbidding the Church=E2=80=99s prayers for those persecuted by = the regime (cf.,=20 his Ukaz # 549 of Oct. 27, 1928). For the atheist Stalin, for = Lenin, for=20 Brezhnev, Sergius and his successors declared =E2=80=9Ca heavenly = reward=E2=80=9D and=20 intoned =E2=80=9CEternal be their memory,=E2=80=9D (cf., for = instance, =E2=80=98Patriarch=E2=80=99 Alexis=E2=80=99=20 March 1953 official declaration the day after Stalin=E2=80=99s = death) while for=20 the soul of a fellow bishop just killed by the Cheka, Sergius = could not=20 pray, =E2=80=9Cbecause the order for this has not yet = come.=E2=80=9D

So here is the origin and first reason for every Orthodox = believer=E2=80=99s=20 rejection of the contemporary Moscow Patriarchate =E2=80=93 it was = created, was=20 kept in existence, and still exists because it willingly offered = up the=20 life and will of the Church in slave-service and for destruction = to=20 Christ=E2=80=99s enemies for 70 years. =E2=80=9CYou have offered = to sacrifice somebody and=20 something =E2=80=93 the internal liberty of the Church=E2=80=9D = (Archbishop Seraphim of=20 Ulglich, 1927 Epistle to Met. Sergius). =E2=80=9CWe will not give = the Church as a=20 sacrifice over to the mercy of the betrayers and foul politicians = and=20 agents of atheism and destruction. And by this protest we do not = cut=20 ourselves off from Her, but we cut them from us and boldly say: = =E2=80=98Not only=20 have we not gone away, do not go away, and will never go away from = the=20 bosom of the true Orthodox Church, but those who are not with us = and for=20 us, but against us, we consider Her enemies, betrayers, murderers. = It is=20 not we who go into schism by not submitting to Metropolitan = Sergius, but=20 rather you who are obedient to him go with him into the abyss of = the=20 Church=E2=80=99s condemnation.=E2=80=9D (Metropolitan Joseph of = Petrograd, deputy of Met.=20 Peter of Krutitsk, an early leader of the Catacomb Church, Epistle = #5, To=20 an Archimandrite of Petrograd, 1928)

To this day, the M.P. refuses to recant of this horrible = Judas-like act=20 of betrayal and condemn this sin, but rather glorifies = Sergius on a=20 level with all the saints and true, faithful martyrs for his = fathomlessly=20 evil deed. Thus its pseudo-Patriarch Alexis II (Ridiger) addresses = those=20 present to celebrate the 50th anniversary celebration of = Stalin=E2=80=99s=20 appointing Sergius =E2=80=9CPatriarch=E2=80=9D of his Stalinist = pseudo-church (1943/1993),=20 saying:

=E2=80=9CThe host of martyrs of the Church of Russia bore = witness to her faith=20 and sowed the seed of her future rebirth. Among the confessors of = Christ=20 we can in full measure name... his Holiness Patriarch = Sergius.=E2=80=9D

Further reasons to reject the M.P.

1. This =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99 is a Schism

This attempted =E2=80=9Ctakeover=E2=80=9D and seizure of the = Church administration from=20 the existing Church hierarchy by this new Bolshevik, = =E2=80=98Sergian=E2=80=99 synod was=20 rejected by nearly all of the several hundred hierarchs of the = Russian=20 Church, those within Russia and those temporarily in exile outside = of her.=20 A =E2=80=9Ctakeover=E2=80=9D or a usurpation (least of all by = Bolshevik decree!) cannot=20 happen in the Church =E2=80=93 a =E2=80=9Ctakeover=E2=80=9D is = simply a schism and that is what=20 the Church called it then. What necessitated this takeover, by = Bolshevik=20 (not Church) authorization, was the steadfast rejection of this = very=20 course by the legitimate Church authority, Patriarch = Tikhon=E2=80=99s appointed=20 successor, Metropolitan Peter (Polianskii) of Krutitsk, whose = supposed=20 servant and deputy Metropolitan Sergius was. St. Met. Peter = declared in=20 his Sept 27, 1927 encyclical from his Bolshevik-imposed Siberian = exile to=20 the bishops of the Russian Church:

=E2=80=9CFor any hierarch, such a declaration is not = permissible...I was asked,=20 in more fitting terms, to sign the Declaration, but I did not = consent, and=20 was for that reason exiled. I trusted Metropolitan Sergius, and = now see=20 that I was mistaken.

=E2=80=9CYou Bishops must yourselves remove Metropolitan = Sergius. I do not=20 bless you to commemorate Metropolitan Sergius during Divine=20 services...=E2=80=9D

He also wrote personally to Metropolitan Sergius in 1930 = demanding he=20 retract the Declaration or =E2=80=9Cif you are too cowardly to = defend the Church,=20 remove yourself from the scene; give way to someone stronger than=20 you.=E2=80=9D

Moreover, Metropolitan Peter retained his faithful = anti-sergianist,=20 anti-bolshevik position to the end, as we read in the official = record=20 of

=E2=80=9Cthe state=E2=80=99s version of the arrest, = imprisonment, and actual death of=20 Metropolitan Petr (Polianskii). Named as Patriarch = Tikhon=E2=80=99s successor, he=20 was arrested in December 1925, sentenced in 1931 without a real = trial, and=20 shot in October 1937, having remained =E2=80=98an uncompromising = enemy of the=20 existing system=E2=80=99 who =E2=80=98considers the struggle with = Soviet power to be=20 unending=E2=80=99 (110-11).=E2=80=9D [Slavic Review, vol. 57, no. = 3 (Oct. 1998), =E2=80=9CReligion=20 in the Soviet Union=E2=80=9D; citing F. Corley, Religion in the = Soviet Union:=20 An Archival Reader, N.Y. 1996).]

The so-called Moscow Patriarchate today is the descendent of = a=20 Bolshevik-engineered schism, and is not a part of the Body, but a = schism.=20 It lacks Apostolic Succession and is not the Church of Christ. It = is an=20 elaborate fake; anyone who wants the real One, Holy, Catholic, and = Apostolic Church won=E2=80=99t find it there where the unity, = sanctity,=20 catholicity, and apostolicity have all been abandoned from the=20 beginning!

2. This =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99 is Anathematized (and = Justly)

Moreover, this tiny collaborator sect had defied the = Church=E2=80=99s existing=20 anathema on collaboration with the Bolsheviks by concluding the = sort of=20 agreement She had already called =E2=80=9Ca pact with the = devil.=E2=80=9D The Patriarch of=20 Moscow (St. Tikhon Belavin [+1925]) and the All-Russian Church = Council of=20 1917-18 had declared the Bolshevik rulers to be = =E2=80=9Coriginated from=20 Antichrist, frenzied with atheism=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9CWe = anathematize you, madmen,...and=20 we lay you under ban, faithful children of the Orthodox Church of = Christ,=20 to in no wise to associate with these fiends of humankind in any = matter=20 whatsoever=E2=80=9D, to which the Council added:

=E2=80=9CThe Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia in his epistle = to the=20 beloved-in-the-Lord archpastors, pastors, and all faithful = children of the=20 Orthodox Church of Christ has drawn the spiritual sword against = the=20 outcasts of the human race - the Bolsheviks, and anathematized = them. The=20 head of the Russian Orthodox Church adjures (binds under threat of = a=20 curse) all her faithful children not to enter into any communion = with=20 these outcasts. For their satanic deeds they are cursed in this = life and=20 in the life to come. O you Orthodox! His Holiness the Patriarch = has been=20 given the right to bind and to loose according to the word of the=20 Saviour... Do not destroy your souls, but rather cease communion = with the=20 servants of Satan - the Bolsheviks. Parents, if your children are=20 Bolsheviks, demand authoritatively that they renounce their = errors, that=20 they bring forth repentance for their eternal sin, and if they do = not obey=20 you, renounce them. Wives, if your husbands are Bolsheviks and = stubbornly=20 continue to serve Satan, leave your husbands, save yourselves and = your=20 children from the soul-destroying infection. An Orthodox Christian = cannot=20 have communion with the servants of the devil... Repent, and with = burning=20 prayer call for help from the Lord of Hosts and thrust away from=20 yourselves =E2=80=98the right-hand of aliens=E2=80=99 - the = age-old enemies of the=20 Christian faith, who have declared themselves in self-appointed = fashion=20 =E2=80=98the people=E2=80=99s power=E2=80=99 [458 out of 567 of = the contemporary Soviet rulers=20 were Jews]... If you do not obey the Church, you will not be = her sons,=20 but participants in the cruel and satanic deeds wrought by the = open and=20 secret enemies of Christian truth... Be bold! Do not delay! Do not = destroy=20 your soul and hand it over to the devil and his servants!=E2=80=9D =

According to the stance of the Russian Church, Bolshevism was=20 effectively classed with Satanism and collaboration with it, = collaboration=20 with Satan. Think about it. Can a Christian really say: = =E2=80=98the goals and=20 success or failure of militant atheism are mine own, an attack on = it is an=20 attack on my Church=E2=80=99? Can a Christian really say: = =E2=80=98it is a religious duty=20 to support and further the reign of militant atheism on = earth=E2=80=99? What kind=20 of Christianity shares its success or failure with =E2=80=9Cthe = servants of=20 Satan=E2=80=9D? Or what of the Sergius=E2=80=99 declaration to the = world in his 1930 TASS=20 interview that =E2=80=9Cthe churches and seminaries are being = closed because the=20 Church [i.e., the Sergian synod] does not want to have = any=E2=80=9D? Or that of=20 =E2=80=98Patriarch=E2=80=99 Alexis I in 1955:

=E2=80=9CThe Russian Orthodox Church supports the totally = peaceful=20 foreign policy of our [soviet] government, not because the Church=20 allegedly lacks freedom, but because Soviet policy is righteous = and=20 corresponds to the Christian ideals which the Church = preaches.=E2=80=9D

These are not Christians but communists in cassocks and = klobuks,=20 preaching =E2=80=98Christian=E2=80=99 Bolshevism.

That is why the Russian Church declared that anyone who would = do this=20 in the future was outside the Church (anathema). Sergius and his = original=20 little sect of 4 out of fear defied this and suffered the = consequences.=20

The so-called Moscow Patriarchate originated and remains = under an=20 unrevoked anathema of the Russian Church, cut off and stamped = =E2=80=9Cthe way of=20 perdition=E2=80=9D, for its creedal union with and endorsement of = the Bolshevik=20 Antichrist government. One might rightly say of her too: = =E2=80=9CI heard a voice=20 from out of heaven [the testimony of the Holy Church], saying, = =E2=80=98Depart=20 from her, My people, lest ye be sharers in her sins and receive = her=20 punishments.=E2=80=99=E2=80=9D (Rev. 18:4)

3. This =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99 is KGB

When Stalin decided to present a fake, Stalinist = =E2=80=98Patriarchate=E2=80=99 to the=20 people, he ordered the surviving handful of Sergianists to make = Sergius=20 their Patriarch (Sept. 4, 1943) and placed the whole new Soviet=20 =E2=80=98Patriarchate=E2=80=99 under the direction of head of the = Commissarate for=20 Repression of Religious Cults, NKVD [proto-KGB] General G. Karpov = and his=20 =E2=80=9CCouncil for Religious Affairs.=E2=80=9D So, the head of = the antireligious arm of=20 the KGB (the Commisarate of Cults) and the director of the new = Moscow=20 Patriarchate=E2=80=99s church administration were one and the same = man.

According to the =E2=80=9CFundamental Law of the Soviet = Union=E2=80=9D, the Moscow=20 Patriarchate (until 1991), =E2=80=9Cis under the control of = the Council for=20 Religious Affairs=E2=80=9D and its system of regional and local = officials, all of=20 which are composed of antireligious Communist Party and KGB = leaders. KGB=20 General Furov, the head of the =E2=80=9CDirectorate for Russian = Orthodox Church=20 Affairs=E2=80=9D and a governor of the CPSU/KGB=E2=80=99s = =E2=80=9CCouncil for Religous Affairs=E2=80=9D,=20 reported in 1974 to the Central Committee of the Communist Party = of the=20 Soviet Union:

=E2=80=9CThe Synod [of the Moscow Patriarchate] is under the = control of the=20 [CPSU/KGB=E2=80=99s] Council for Religious Affairs. The question = of the selection=20 and placing of its permanent members was and remains completely in = the=20 hands of the Council, and the candidature of the non-permanent = members is=20 also agreed beforehand with responsible members of the Council. = All issues=20 which are to be discussed at the Synod are first discussed by = Patriarch=20 Pimen and the permanent members of the Synod with the leaders of = the [KGB]=20 Council and in its departments, and the final =E2=80=98Decisions = (Opredeleniya) of=20 the Holy Synod=E2=80=99 are also agreed.=E2=80=9D

In essence, the Patriarchate neither elected bishops nor made = decisions=20 until after the KGB/CPSU Council had told them what the election = outcome=20 or decision would be. Every official statement was co-authored by = militant=20 atheism=E2=80=99s chiefs and every one of the bishops was the = appointee of the=20 KGB/CPSU antichrists.

Likewise, commenting on how his own = =E2=80=98Metropolia=E2=80=99 (a 1947 schism from=20 ROCOR, now called the OCA) was decreed canonical and autocephalous = by=20 Moscow =E2=80=98Patriarch=E2=80=99 Pimen, Metropolitan Theodosius = candidly remarked a few=20 years ago: =E2=80=9CPersonally, given the political situation of = the Soviet Union=20 at that time, I am amazed that the autocephaly was granted at all. = How the=20 Russian Church was able to do this, how it negotiated with the = Soviet=20 Government=E2=80=99s Council on Religious Affairs=E2=80=93 these = are things I did not ask=E2=80=99=20 (June/July 1995 issue of the official newspaper of the OCA, = =E2=80=9CThe Orthodox=20 Church=E2=80=9D, p. 10). [The supposed grant of autocephaly from = the real Russian=20 Orthodox Church was in fact a payment from the KGB/CPSU to these = American=20 schismatic bishops in exchange for the Metropolia=E2=80=99s = surrendering to the=20 M.P./KGB control the Japanese Orthodox Church and offering a = promise of=20 silence and collaboration with the antichristian U.S.S.R. KGB = Colonel Oleg=20 Kalugin states flatly that through this the OCA became heavily = infiltrated=20 with KGB agents, doubtless, uniformed in klobuks, crosses, and=20 cassocks.]

It was the KGB General Kuroyedov that ordered the Patriarchate = to join=20 the Ecumenical Movement and the W.C.C. [about which we shall speak = further=20 below], reporting to the Communist Central Committee in 1960:

=E2=80=9CThe Patriarch accepted the recommendation of the [KGB] = Council [For=20 Religious Affairs] concerning the entry of the Russian Orthodox = Church=20 into the membership of the World Council of Churches and evaluated = this as=20 a major action of the Russian Orthodox Church in its activities = abroad.=E2=80=99=E2=80=9D=20

Consequently, the Soviet =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99 was = officially incorporated into the=20 W.C.C. in 1961. And it was certainly on the Council=E2=80=99s = orders that the MP=20 issued ultimatums to the Patriarchates forbidding their = Pan-Orthodox=20 conference of 1962 to discuss their agenda topic =E2=80=9CThe = Fight Against=20 Atheism,=E2=80=9D the act of a truly faithful servant of militant = atheism, one of=20 many such services to follow. For instance, the immediate fruit of = the=20 MP=E2=80=99s entry into the WCC was placement of an effective = block on any WCC=20 discussion or protest of religious persecution in the USSR = (despite the=20 fact that Krushchev had just closed 80% of the few remaining = churches in=20 the USSR and issued orders [1962] to arrest all minors [and their = parents]=20 who were caught attending Church services). At the same time, the = MP WCC=20 delegates secured (from 1969 until 1979) over $15,000,000 in WCC = funding=20 for 3^rd world communist revolutionary groups including = the Viet=20 Cong in recognition of their =E2=80=98Christian=E2=80=99 struggle = for racial and social=20 justice! In 1966, the Central Committee of the WCC (their chief=20 policy-making body), declared that =E2=80=9CAmerican victory in = Vietnam would=20 cause long- range difficulties=E2=80=9D and they called upon = =E2=80=9Cthe United States to=20 halt its bombing of North Vietnam and review and modify its policy = of=20 trying to contain communism.=E2=80=9D It also proposed that the = West stop=20 resisting and recognize the militant atheists also as legitimate = rulers of=20 China and welcome them into the U.N. and the Security Council, = abandoning=20 the claim of Chinese Christians and nationalists exiled to Taiwan. = This=20 and many other over and covert services to militant atheism and = apostasy=20 did the so-called MP render her KGB/CPSU council of masters under = the=20 auspices of the Ecumenical Movement.

The current Patriarch himself is a recognized, infamous KGB = agent=20 (codename =E2=80=98Drozdov=E2=80=99) and is cited in the = aforementioned =E2=80=9CFurov Report=E2=80=9D as=20 the most zealous for the Soviet cause among the MP bishops. The = Estonian=20 newspaper =E2=80=9CPostimees=E2=80=9D (of March 18, 1996) in = =E2=80=9CA Shadow Hangs over=20 Patriarch Alexis (II)=E2=80=9D has published excerpts from the KGB = reports of the=20 Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic preserved in the local state = archives,=20 including the following KGB report:

=E2=80=9CAgent =E2=80=98Drozdov=E2=80=99, born in 1929, a = priest of the Orthodox Church, has a=20 higher education, a degree in theology, perfectly speaks Russian,=20 Estonian, and limited German; he enlisted (in the KGB) on February = 28,=20 1958, out of patriotic feelings in order to expose and drive out = the=20 anti-Soviet elements among the Orthodox clergy, with whom he has=20 connections, which present an overriding interest to KGB agencies. = At the=20 time of enlistment it was taken into consideration that in the = future=20 (after securing his practical work) he would be promoted through = available=20 channels to Bishop of Tallinin and Estonia. In the period of his=20 collaboration with the organs of KGB, =E2=80=98Drozdov=E2=80=99 = has proved himself in a=20 positive manner, is accurate in his reports, energetic, and = sociable. He=20 understands theological matters and international situations well. = He is=20 eager to fulfill tasks given to him by us (KGB) and has already = presented=20 a number of worthy materials...After securing the agent in = practical work=20 for the agencies of state security concretely worked out, we = intend to use=20 him to further our interests through sending him into the = capitalistic=20 countries as a member of ecclesiastical delegations...=E2=80=9D = (In other words he=20 was a vicious spy-informer-persecutor of any Christian who was not = 100%=20 pro-Bolshevik, helping deliver them up to the KGB and the firing = squad or=20 the gulag; also, note that the KGB decided, not the Church, that = he would=20 become Bishop of Estonia; having proved so thoroughly a tool of = the KGB,=20 it next wants to use him as a foreign spy and propagandist. = Finally:)

=E2=80=9CAccording to KGB archival documents opened briefly in = the early=20 1990=E2=80=99s, in 1988 =E2=80=9CAn order was drafted by the USSR = KGB chairman to award an=20 honorary citation to agent DROZDOV=E2=80=9D (the future Patriarch = Alexis II) =E2=80=9Cfor=20 outstanding intelligence services=E2=80=9D.=E2=80=9D (This eager = servant of the devil now=20 heads the Moscow Patriarchate [consisting of other KGB=20 agent-=E2=80=98bishops=E2=80=99]!)

The MP is the KGB-Church, the Stalinist-Church, the Soviet = Church, and=20 in that regard it is worth quoting St. John Maximovitch=E2=80=99s = 1964 letter =E2=80=9COn=20 the Expression =E2=80=98Soviet Church=E2=80=99=E2=80=9D:

=E2=80=9CIt is not correct to speak of the =E2=80=98Soviet = Church=E2=80=99--which is something=20 the =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99 cannot be in the true sense of the = word =E2=80=98Church=E2=80=99--but about=20 the hierarchy that acts as the agent of the Soviet regime. = One=E2=80=99s attitude=20 toward this hierarchy should be the same as toward the other=20 representatives of this [i.e., the Soviet] regime.=E2=80=9D

So, how today would one approach a Bolshevik commissar? = Asking a=20 blessing? Certainly not and so neither should someone seeking the=20 authentic Church go to a Soviet hierarch or hierarchy that = received their=20 position by virtue of the KGB=E2=80=99s recognition of their = merits as communist=20 agents!

4. This Church is Ecumenist

As already mentioned, the Moscow Patriarchate, being a = spineless slave=20 and pleaser of men and not of Christ, joined the Ecumenical = movement on=20 the order of their head, KGB General Korodoev in 1961. According = to the=20 Constitution of the WCC, adopted at the Amsterdam Assembly in = 1948, in=20 Protestant/Ecumenist fashion, =E2=80=9Cthe member churches = [ranging from=20 Orthodox to Nestorian to Monophysite to Baptist to Pentecostal to=20 Anglican] are already one in Christ. They do not have to do = anything=20 to create this union; they find their unity in Him.=E2=80=9D

Not long after joining the Ecumenical Movement, the = Patriarchate=20 synodically decreed that the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches = =E2=80=9Chold=20 the same teaching concerning the Holy Mysteries and mutually = recognize the=20 validity of the Mysteries performed in each=E2=80=9D (*Journal of = the Moscow=20 Patriarchate*, No. 5, 1970, Russian ed.) and therefore, a kind of=20 intercommunion was established, Catholics being permitted to = commune in MP=20 churches and vice versa. Metropolitan Nikodim of Leningrad, head = of the=20 MP=E2=80=99s external relations department, served Mass (in = October and December=20 of 1969) with Roman Catholics in the Papacy=E2=80=99s Russicom and = shared this=20 =E2=80=98communion=E2=80=99 with the papist laity.

One of the MP=E2=80=99s three WCC representatives was the = future (current)=20 Patriarch Alexei II (Ridiger). On behalf of the Patriarchate, he=20 recognized the mysteries of all the WCC=E2=80=99s heterodox, from = Nestorian and=20 Monophysite to Baptist and Anglican, and even claimed membership = in Christ=20 for His deniers:

=E2=80=9C=E2=80=98We, the Orthodox, are lovingly disposed to = our non-Orthodox brothers,=20 for we have all been baptized in one Spirit, and we have all been = made to=20 drink into one Spirit (I Corinthians12.13).=E2=80=99 =E2=80=98[W]e = all have been received=20 into the nature of Jesus Christ the God-man as an integral nature. = And=20 this truth forces us to believe that every person striving towards = goodness and righteousness does the work of Christ on earth, even = if he=20 intellectually has not known Christ or has even rejected = Him.=E2=80=9D [Journal of=20 the Moscow Patriarchate, 1980, no. 3, p. 59, & 1966, no. 7, p. = 43]

As Patriarch, he has proven his deep commitment to this heresy, = by=20 making the Patriarchate signatory to the Balamand (1993) and = Chambessy=20 (1990) Agreements. With these official ecumenical declarations = Moscow and=20 the other =E2=80=98World Orthodox=E2=80=99 condemned our Holy = Fathers and the whole=20 Orthodox Church as responsible for dividing the Body of Christ and = declared the Church had been in error and without right Christian = love or=20 the truth for millennia! They cast derision on the saints of God = and the=20 Body of Christ for condemning and expelling Monophysitism and = Papism from=20 the churches of God. Instead, in the Balamand Agreement, Patriarch = Alexei=20 and the Pope declare:

=E2=80=9Cthat which Christ has entrusted to His Church -- = profession of=20 apostolic faith, participation in the same sacraments, above all = the one=20 priesthood celebrating the one sacrifice of Christ, the apostolic=20 succession of bishops -- cannot be considered the exclusive = property of=20 one of our Churches [i.e., both Papism and Orthodoxy have the same = (correct) profession of Faith, the same Mysteries, the same = Priesthood,=20 the same Apostolic Succession]. In this context elimination of any = re-baptism is obvious.=E2=80=9D Moreover, =E2=80=9Cthey are sister = Churches [i.e., in=20 canonical communion] and must pursue perfect and total = communion=E2=80=9D!!!.

In contempt of the Ecumenical Councils and Holy Fathers, = Patriarch=20 Alexei and the Monophysite Patriarchs (in the Chambessy Agreement) = declare:

=E2=80=9C[W]e now clearly realize and understand that our two = families=20 [Orthodox and Monophysites] have always loyally guarded the same = and=20 authentic Christological Orthodox faith, and have maintained = uninterrupted=20 the apostolic tradition although they may have used the = Christological=20 terms in a different manner. It is that common faith and that = continual=20 loyalty to the apostolic tradition which must be the basis of our = unity=20 and communion... The two families accept that all the anathemas = and the=20 condemnations of the past which kept us divided must be lifted by = the=20 Churches so that the last obstacle to full unity and communion of = our two=20 families can be removed by the grace and the power of God. The two = families accept that the lifting of the anathemas and the = condemnations=20 will be based on the fact that the Councils and the fathers = previously=20 anathematized or condemned were not heretics....=E2=80=9D

(That is, no Monophysite heretic has sinned against the Faith = and needs=20 to repent and embrace the Faith of the Fathers, but rather it is = the=20 Ecumenical Councils themselves, the Orthodox Church herself, and = the Holy=20 Fathers themselves who anathematized the Monophysite heretics that = have=20 sinned! Such is the unforgivable blasphemy against the Holy Spirit = wherewith =E2=80=98World Orthodoxy=E2=80=99 blasphemes Christ. It = is the same=20 antichristian spirit which has also led Patriarch Bartholomew to = declare=20 =E2=80=9Cthe Fathers who caused the schism [with Papism] were = dupes of the ancient=20 serpent, the devil=E2=80=9D!)

Who among those who wish to serve Christ would join the flock = of Alexei=20 and his brother-band of blasphemers, the enemies of Christ and = Orthodoxy?=20

And let us not be surprised that being Christ=E2=80=99s enemies = they seek union=20 with those who boast in being his ancient enemies, crucifiers, and = deniers, the Jews! For, in 1991, Patriarch Alexis II addressed an = assembly=20 of American Jewish Rabbis in New York City (11/13/91), saying: =

=E2=80=9CDear brothers, shalom to you in the name of the God of = love and=20 peace!... We are all brothers, for we are all children of the Old=20 Testament ...we are one with the Jews, without renouncing=20 Christianity...We are separated from the Jews because we are not = yet=20 completely Christian... For the fullness of Christianity embraces = both=20 itself and Judaism... The Jewish people are near to us in respect = to=20 faith. Your law is our law, your prophets are our prophets (note: = this is=20 not true at all since the Jews count the antichristian Babylonian = Talmud=20 and Zohar as part of =E2=80=9Cthe Law of Moses=E2=80=9D) ...by our = joint efforts we shall=20 build a new society... the brotherhood of the children of the one = God, the=20 Father of all, the God of your fathers and of ours.=E2=80=9D

Yes, dear reader, truly Alexei, appointee of the KGB-Soviet = antichrist,=20 and the totally antichristian Talmudic Rabbis are brethren, born=20 spiritually of the same father, rightly declaring =E2=80=9Cwe have = one father,=E2=80=9D=20 ....and you will not have far to seek for the record of this = paternity:=20 =E2=80=9CYe are of your father the devil and the desires of your = father ye will=20 do!...for he is a liar and the father of the liar...My Father, of = Whom ye=20 say that He is your God, ye have not known...=E2=80=9D [Jn. 8:44, = 54-55] and =E2=80=9CI=20 know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but = are=20 Satan=E2=80=99s synagogue.=E2=80=9D [Rev. 2:9; cf. 3:9] Such then, = has the MP declared=20 itself =E2=80=9Cnear in faith=E2=80=9D and = =E2=80=9Cbrethren=E2=80=9D of =E2=80=9CSatan=E2=80=99s = synagogue.=E2=80=9D Quite=20 appropriate given the MP was hand-in-glove with the Cheka-KGB and = =E2=80=9Ca=20 murderer and liar from the beginning=E2=80=9D [Jn. 8:44].

If to the Jews Alexei becomes almost a Jew to curry their = favor, why=20 not bless Mohammed or Islam a little to win over Muslims? Yes, why = not,=20 since the Patriarch has no reverence for the sacred truth of = Christ? So,=20 Alexei did just that in his letter to the =E2=80=9C3^rd = Colloquim of the=20 Islam-Orthodoxy Joint Commission=E2=80=9D in Iran (2001):

=E2=80=9CHighly revered Hojat ul-Islam Noumani, vice-president = of the=20 Organization for Islamic Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran! = Your=20 Excellency, dear fathers and brothers!...Orthodox Christians hold = Islam in=20 great veneration as an ancient, Abrahamic faith, full of spiritual = life-force....We oppose the tendencies to engender antagonism = between the=20 adherents of Christianity and Islam and to set the two great = civilizations=20 against each other. The Orthodox and the Muslims have many common = goals,=20 and we must combine our forces in order to achieve them.=E2=80=9D =

Only a man, a Patriarch no less, who is dead to Christ could = say that=20 Orthodoxy venerates Islam and finds it =E2=80=9Cfull of spiritual = life-force=E2=80=9D!=20 What =E2=80=9Cspiritual life-force=E2=80=9D can it have without = our Lord, Whom the Koran=20 most stridently denies and blasphemes? What veneration can = Orthodox offer=20 the murderous dogmas of Mohammed, the butcher and persecutor of = millions=20 of Orthodox over the centuries? How true to form the MP shows = itself in=20 venerating and glorifying all Christ=E2=80=99s enemies and = blasphemers, in whom=20 she finds a common spirit with herself!

In all of the above, one reads one common thread: the MP = always=20 declares her solidarity with Christ=E2=80=99s enemies. Whoever has = union or=20 communion with the MP has it with Christ=E2=80=99s enemies. Woe to = that person at=20 the Judgment!

In conclusion, it is abundantly clear that whoever loves the = purity of=20 the truth and Christ cannot join the MP. For the whole 80 years of = her=20 illegitimate existence she has been the creature and servant of = one=20 antichristian heresy and apostasy after another and there is no = truth in=20 her. To join the MP would be to confess that:

an authentic Church can be created by Stalin in defiance of = the real=20 Church=E2=80=99s anathemas and in schism from her lawful = hierarchy;=20

that an authentic Church can exist where all her ordinations = and all=20 her decisions and all her confessions of faith are dictated to = her, not=20 by God, but by Christ=E2=80=99s open enemies and her destroyers = (the KGB/CPSU)=20 based on the merit of the decision for destroying Christianity = and=20 religion world-wide;=20

that an authentic Church can blaspheme the martyrs as mere = =E2=80=98dead=20 criminals=E2=80=99 and denounce the Ecumenical Councils and Holy = Fathers as=20 guilty of schism;=20

that the Church can deny nearly all her dogmas of the Faith = and=20 renounce following many of Christ=E2=80=99s commandments in = Christian life,=20 because militant atheism disapproves;=20

that it can officially declare total solidarity with = Bolshevism,=20 that is, identify herself, her success and joy with that of = militant=20 atheism, and put herself in the service of the enemies of Christ = and=20 glorify her persecutors.

The sin of the MP is in fact worse than that, but no Christian = at all=20 worthy of the name could stomach even what little we have = mentioned of her=20 crimes.
